Liverpool ran riot at Old Trafford as they defeated Manchester United 5-0.
The sensational Mohamed Salah scored a hat-trick, the 10th consecutive Liverpool game he’s scored in, while Naby Keita and Diogo Jota also netted on a memorable afternoon for the visiting side.
Paul Pogba, meanwhile, was sent off just 15 minutes after coming on at half-time in a game where nothing went right for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The onslaught began just five minutes in as Keita burst forward from midfield to roll past David de Gea as the Guinea international made it back-to-back games with a goal after his midweek strike against Atletico Madrid.
Jota tapped home just eight minutes later as Liverpool seized on a mix-up between Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw in the penalty area, with the visiting side taking control immediately.
Salah got in on the act after 38 minutes when Keita repaid the favour by setting him up, and the mesmerising Egyptian doubled his tally in first-half added-time as again United were left blaming themselves.
Five minutes after half-time, Salah completed his hat-trick, converting well following a brilliant Jordan Henderson through ball.
Pogba saw red for a reckless challenge on Keita, which saw the Liverpool midfielder leave the field on a stretcher, highlighting the only worry for Jurgen Klopp from today’s game.
In a fixture that has so often been the indicator of who the dominant force in English football is, Liverpool made a statement while United looked a long way short of being a title contender this season.
