Pastor Aloysius Bugingo, who was rushed to Mulago National Referral Hospital in Kampala after being shot by unknown gunmen, is out of danger.

Officials who visited Bugingo on Tuesday night said he was “responding well to treatment,” emphasising, “He is now out of danger.”

Bugingo, who is the Director of House of Prayer Ministries International, was shot by militants near Total Petrol Station, Namungoona, Wakiso district.

He was rushed to Mulago in critical condition but doctors were able to stabilise him.

Police officials said they had already started the hunt for the perpetrators of the crime.

High profile government officials and Muslim clerics have previously been attacked by armed gunmen in different parts of the country.

Bugingo is a strong supporter of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) leader and President, Yoweri Museveni.
