Uganda Police has on Monday, May 25, issued guidelines for private vehicles as they return on the road.

Private vehicle drivers are expected to be back on the road on Tuesday, May 26, according to President Museveni’s directive in his 14th address.

Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga says, only 3 occupants including the driver are allowed in a car in ordered to maintain social distancing adding that Face masks are a must for all private car occupants when they are back on the road this week, anyone found without the protective gear will be arrested and charged in the courts of law.

The 7pm curfew time is also to be adhered to, with any car found on the road after, impounded. Occupants will be arrested.
These Police guidelines on private vehicles come as government aims to slow the spread of the Coronovirus.

Last week, President Yoweri Museveni eased the tough lockdown rules by allowing private automibiles back on the road this week.
