The women across the country have been challenged to shape their female children into abilities to change the country especially through investing into lucrative business against paradigms that disadvantage them.

The advice has been given by Ms. Angella Nakafero, commissioner ministry of gender labor and social development who challenged women as mothers to take lead in  breaking Patriarchy

Speaking at the 3rd annual URA women’s conference 2020, Ms. Angella revealed that Patriarchy thrives because we live in a culture of male entitlement. She adds that Society behaves as if men are entitled to treat women in a dehumanizing manner, by maintaining a “boys will be boys” mentality, in which women are taught to tolerate male aggression or change their behavior to avoid it.

Ms. Angella intimates that “Paradigms include the idea that men are naturally aggressive while women are innately passive. In fact there is no gender basis for this, thank God that we have women leaders in different organizations take the example of Doris Akol of URA”.

She adds that these stereotypes encourage women to tolerate male violence and treat “aggressive” females as unnatural, calling upon women to rise up and stop this dichotic, limiting view of what men and women can be. It’s time to encourage people to embrace the full spectrum of individuality “Through proper enhancement of training both female and male children to explore their total potentials

She calls on Women to often make contacts through people they know and form smaller, deeper networks based on trust.
